Kizildjar Total route: Tashkent – Chimgan – Aksay waterfall (only in spring) – Kiziljar – Charvak – Tashkent

Length: 7 km

Type of the route: Linear (linear+radial with Aksay)

Start point: +- 1500 m

Top point: 1820 m

Level: Easy

Overview:

– Tashkent: Departure from the hotel in the direction of the Chimgan Mountains where our trekking begins. On the way we make a stop for a snack with horse meat, beef or lamb sambusa baked in clay oven.

– Aksay (radial road): The river flows from the Chimgan Mountains, mainly from Big Chimgan, which is considered the highest point of Tashkent, where glaciers are always preserved. Hike to the waterfall is ±5 km round trip. (to the waterfall hike only until the middle of June). We return to Chimgan to start the next trek.

– Arrival at the village Chimgan from where you start walking (±1500 m). We head to Kizildjar Ridge, at an altitude of 1820 meters, from where there is a magnificent panoramic view of the Chimgan Mountains and the Charvak water reserve. On the way we make a stop at a corral of the local inhabitants and to take the photos of the panoramic view.

– Kizildjar: By the reason of high amount of iron oxide, the earth here is red in color and for this reason this locality is named The Red Rock. Although the track is considered easy and has no more than 1820 meters, but from here one of the best panoramic views of the entire environment opens up, including Little Chimgan, Big Chimgan, Charvak water reserve, Marble Valley.

– After Kizildjar Ridge we continue down to the other side of Chimgan.

– Charvak: After finishing the trek we took the cars to go to the Charvak water reserve. The largest water reserve in Tashkent that keeps the whole province with water. It is one of the most extraordinary for its construction. Taking into account that Tashkent is a seismic city, the reserve was built by covering it with ground.

– Back to Tashkent, drop-off in your hotel / railway station / airport.

(Lunch along the according to the tourist’s request.)
